XDP DIESEL DRAG TRUCK
Hometown: Owensville, Mo
Anthony Reams got his start in the industry in sled pulling, as the former owner/driver of the XDP pulling truck. He’s had experience with numerous engine and transmission setup’s. So in 2014 Anthony decided to give drag racing a shot. He turned a 1995 Dodge 2500 into one fast truck, with serious engine, transmission and safety modifications. This 6000 pound truck gets down the ¼ mile in 9 seconds at over 150 mph! To achieve these numbers, highly modified parts from Borg Warner, Fleece Performance, & BD Diesel were added to the truck. The build took about 6 months and yielded great results in 2015. In 2016 Anthony looks to step things up even more!!
Team XDP's work in the off-season has yielded big results so far in the 2016 Race Season. Anthony decided in the off-season to take out the old 12v, Triple-Turbo Cummins setup that made some big power in the 2015 season, and switch to a new Fleece 6.4L Common Rail, compound setup, which so far is proving to be very consistent. His first pass on the new setup saw him eclipse the NHRDA Super Street ET and MPH record, with a 9.14 @ 153 mph pass at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Only hurtle was to back it up, but parachute issues, along with other challenges in the later rounds, the team didn't make the record official. A few weeks later at the NHRDA Diesels on the Mountain at Bandimere Speedway, deep in the heart of the Rockies of Denver, Colorado, Anthony again eclipsed the ET and MPH record in the qualifying, with a pass of 9.22 @ 153mph. In the end, Anthony flirted with backing up the record, but came up just short of setting the new standard in the finals with a pass of 9.39 @ 149 mph, however he was still fast enough to take first place and be crowned King of the Mountain. Anthony knows the truck still has more to give, and is on a mission to fine tune the XDP Drag Truck and officially set the NHRDA Super Street World record.
